Historical Milestones

1982 - MBI was founded as the first evangelical seminary in 
      Macau with Pastor Paul Chi serving as the first 
      principal.

1984 - MBI moved into Merry Court.

1988 - Rev. Thomas Au Yeung appointed as the second principal.

1991 - Inauguration of the new student dormitory at Wing Shun
      Building.

1992 - Rev. Daniel Hung appointed as the third principal.

2001 - Rev. Abraham Yeung appointed as the fourth principal.

Mission

MBI exists to serve the Lord and His Church through the provision of theological and interdisciplinary education by way of a variety of programs. MBI is committed to

 1. developing godly servant leaders for full-time Christian ministry as pastors, missionaries, and evangelists,

2. providing continuing education for pastors and church workers,

3.assisting churches in training the laity, and

4.providing strategic research and spiritual support for Macau churches and pastors.


Distinctives

Macau Bible Institute

1.is the only transdenominational seminary in Macau.

2.with more than two decades of strong partnership with the local Chinese churches, assumes a unique and strategic role in developing indigenous Christian workers, as well as in transforming the lives of believers.

3. provides a Bible-centered curriculum.

4. places strong emphasis on community building and discipleship training.

5.adopts a holistic training approach which includes theological, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, relational, and ministerial.

6.offers contextualized programs to meet the actual needs of the Chinese churches.
